Background
I help clients put social change into practice by combining the research training of a Cambridge PhD, the experience of a seasoned educator and peacebuilding practitioner, and the communication skills of an award-winning poet and storyteller.
Prior to consulting and research work, I co-founded and directed an arts and peace education charity organisation, developed and taught university gender violence prevention programs, and led international storytelling projects documenting revolutions, conflicts, and crises.
I’ve published multiple books, journal articles, and reports, and my work has been featured on National Public Radio, Al Jazeera English, and in GQ.
Recent Work

Ocean of Peace in the Pacific
2024
I worked with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office and the Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs to conduct research on the proposed ‘Ocean of Peace’ regional peace and security initiative in the Pacific. In collaboration with Fiji- and UK-based teams, I held focus group sessions with religious and traditional leaders, the armed forces, police, civil society organizations, universities, media organizations, INGOs, and diplomats from a dozen Pacific countries. Our analysis was shared within the UK and Fiji Governments, including an in-person briefing with the Fiji Prime Minister. This work has subsequently been used to inform government strategy and policy. Additional academic journal articles, reports, and creative outputs are currently being developed.

Gender, Justice, and Security
2023-2024
I worked for the LSE Centre for Women, Peace and Security on the Gender, Justice, and Security Hub, a research network examining gender justice and inclusive peace in conflict-affected contexts. I co-managed five research projects with teams based around the world and led the design, data collection, development, and writing of the Hub’s culminating research and policy output, Gender, Justice, and Security: Structural Challenges, Feminist Innovations, and Radical Futures. This 300-page co-authored report synthesizes five years of research findings and recommendations across 38 research projects in Afghanistan, Colombia, Kurdistan-Iraq, Lebanon, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, and Uganda. The Report is available online and the Summary can be downloaded in 10 languages here.
